War and conflicts: Since the invasion in 2022, Ukrainian prosecutors have gone through thousands of cases where there has been suspicion of collaboration between the Ukrainians and Russians.
– Under the guise of being private repairmen, they traveled around the Kharkiv region alone and made notes about the location of Ukrainian forces and defense lines. They must have passed this on to the Russians, says the security service SBU.
The two suspects were arrested in their homes. They risk life imprisonment, says SBU.
Russian forces took partial control of the Kharkiv region during the invasion, but failed to take Kharkiv city. The region has been under more or less continuous shelling from the Russian side and from areas that Russia has annexed in the east.
