However, he says he does not know when this might happen.
In recent weeks, Trump has made several suggestions that he wants to debate Biden “anytime and anywhere”. Earlier in the election campaign, he has refused to appear in debates against political opponents. He has not participated in debates in the race to become the Republican presidential candidate.
Trump’s campaign staffer Chris LaCivita comments on Biden’s statement on social media as follows: “Okay, let’s agree on that.”
Debates between presidential candidates have for several decades been considered highlights of election campaigns. It has been an important arena for shaping the perception of the candidates’ personality and style, as well as political positions.
