Sport: The union writes in one press release.

“SAFF and the Players’ Association in Saudi Arabia (PFA) are shocked by the shameful scenes when a spectator physically attacked an Al-Ittihad player,” it begins.

The incident occurred after Al-Ittihad had lost the Saudi Arabian Super Cup final 1-4 to Al-Hilal earlier in April. After the match, Hamdallah threw water at a supporter, who responded by whipping the 33-year-old Moroccan.

“Fortunately, disputes with supporters are extremely rare. That is the reason why the actions of this “so-called” supporter go against everything Saudi football represents, and we condemn the incident completely,” the association writes and states that it will now conduct a review of the audience rules in the nation.

“The review will ensure that updated rules and regulations are put in place to quickly and effectively impose appropriate penalties to avoid the recurrence of such incidents,” the message states.

Hamdallah was in Morocco’s World Cup squad in 2022 and played for the 1st division club Aalesund eleven years ago.
