Policy: Blinken will meet ministers from the Gulf states on Monday and Tuesday. The visit is his first to Saudi Arabia since the recent confrontations between Iran and Israel.
He will also be present at a meeting of the World Economic Forum where Gaza will be discussed.
A spokesperson for the US State Department, Matthew Miller, says that Blinken will discuss the work to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza that ensures that the remaining hostages are released.
He will also work to prevent the conflict from spreading to the rest of the region, and discuss the work for a lasting peace in the region, including the way forward towards an independent Palestinian state with security guarantees for Israel, according to Miller.
