Ivorian artist Laetitia Ky in a word, a gesture and a silence

At the age of 17, she stopped straightening her hair. Three years later, Laetitia Ky published her first hair styling on Instagram. Since then, she has transformed traditional braids into Afro-feminist manifestos, acclaimed by millions of followers on social networks. With her hair sculptures, the Ivorian, born 27 years ago in Abidjan, today embodies a new voice of feminism and African identity. With her colorful images, she attacks taboos on women’s bodies and sexuality.
