MANILA, Philippines — Alex Eala made her second straight International Tennis Federation (ITF) singles semifinal this month as she remained unstoppable in the W40 Kyotec Open.

The 18-year-old Eala dominated qualifier Jasmijn Gimbrere of the Netherlands, 6-3, 6-2, in the quarterfinal on Friday night (Manila time) in Petange, Luxembourg.

Eala, the ninth seed of the tournament, battles Anna-Lena Friedsam in the semifinal on Saturday evening.

The Rafael Nadal Academy graduate is eyeing her fifth International Tennis Federation (ITF) singles crow as she makes her second straight semifinal following her campaign in the W60 Nantes in France two weeks ago.

Eala has been dominant in the tournament as she opened her campaign with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Angelina Wirges of Germany in the first round before sweeping qualifier Johanne Christine Svendsen of Denmark, 6-3, 6-1.

However, Eala bowed out in the doubles semifinal after she and Zeynep Sonmez of Turkiye fell to top seed Ali Collins of Great Britain and Isabelle Haverlag of the Netherlands, 6-2, 7-6 (4).

Colins and  Haverlag forged a championship match with British tandem Alicia Barnett and Samantha Sharan, who took down German pair Tayisiya and Yana Morderger, 6-1, 7-6 (2) in the other semis match.
