Mark Wahlberg befriends an inspirational stray dog in Arthur the King trailer

Lionsgate has released a poster and trailer for director Simon Cellan Jones’ upcoming adventure drama Arthur the King.

Based on the incredible true story and Mikael Lindord’s book Arthur: The Dog Who Crossed the Jungle to Find a Home, the film tells the story of Michael Light (Mark Wahlberg) and the bond he formed over the 435 mile Adventure Racing World Championship in the Dominican Republic with the street companion he named Arthur.

Over the course of ten days and 435 miles, an unbreakable bond is forged between pro adventure racer Michael Light (Mark Wahlberg) and a scrappy street dog companion dubbed Arthur. As the team is pushed to their outer limits of endurance in the race, Arthur redefines what victory, loyalty and friendship truly mean.

Arthur the King stars Mark Wahlberg, Simu Liu, Juliet Rylance, Nathalie Emmanuel, Ali Suliman, Paul Guilfoyle, with Bear Grylls as Himself.
