The wholesale price of electricity on the Prague PXE exchange decreased to 122.81 euros per megawatt hour on Friday, from 125.67 euros per megawatt hour from the previous Friday. The price of natural gas for the European delivery market in the following month also fell again, by around 1.60 euros per megawatt hour.
At the end of August last year, the price of electricity jumped to one thousand euros per megawatt hour, but since then it has gradually decreased to 126.2 euros per megawatt hour at the beginning of June. After a jump to more than 150 euros per megawatt-hour in mid-June, it fell again to the current level, while in the first week of October its price reached 123.40 euros per megawatt-hour.
The price of natural gas for December delivery in the virtual trading hub Title Transfer Facility in the Netherlands fell to 45.06 euros per megawatt hour on Friday, from 46.63 euros per megawatt hour at the end of the previous week.
